In November 2022 I was extremely proud to have completed the Wix Accessibility course, and become an Accessibility Specialist.

The World Health Organization says that over one billion people worldwide have a disability. Disability categories include:

VISUAL- such as blindness or heavy/partial sightedness.

AUDITORY – such as profound deafness or hard of hearing.

MOTOR – conditions causing anything from minor limited motor function to full paralysis.

COGNITIVE – such as ADHD, dyslexia and autistic spectrum disorder.

Around 25% of the global population may have temporary and situational limitations at any given time, so we want to make sure that websites are accessible to all.

Wix has designed their features to be accessibility compliant by aligning all their products with the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG), published by the Web Accessibility Initiative.

Every single country/region/state has different laws on accessibility, so it is impossible to guarantee accessibility when it comes to websites. If you really want to be legally compliant you can hire a professional, legally-qualified accessibility advisor who understands your local laws.

However, with my training through Wix, I am thrilled to be able to offer a higher level of knowledge on accessibility when building and managing websites for my clients.
